George Lucas was born in 1944 in Modesto, California where he now stands at 64 years of age. He went to school at “Downey High School” where he pursued the goals of being a drag racer, but a tragic accident changed his views on his life goals and directions. He then attended “Modest Junior College” which lead to him attending the University Of California Film School. He made several films one of which was THX 1138 which was his he’s first accredited films.  He was awarded a scholarship by Warner Brothers to sit in for the making of “Finians Rainbow”. Lucas did so and became close friends with the director Francis Ford Coppola, they formed a company called American Zoetrope in 1969, they then made Lucas’s first film THX 1138. With a start to his career as a film maker he still continues to make films, and best of all he created “Starwars” a large film series which was continued on over many of years. He also is the executive producer of “Indiana Jones” films and he owns owns one of the greatest special effects companies in the world, “Lucasfilm LTD.

The Machinist:

1. – clean image, slightly tinted, less contrast to decrease light and give everything a dull sense of life.
2. – dull lighting, the light is always minimalistic  to compensate for the green and – blue stock.
3. – Very grey, Lots of dark rich blacks, green and blue stock to make everything look a bit grainy adding to the effect of a thriller/drama setting.

The Office:

1. –  opening scene, shows sense of comedy, shows the reactions of each worker, it also gives you a sense of a real office in London, kind of like a documentary only scripted.
2.  – the editing is quick, often turns to a narrating point of view or an interviewed  perspective. moving to scenes quickly skips  to scenes to different parts of the office.
3.   – They cut scenes every few seconds cutting backwards and forwards to David Brent giving you a funny insight of everything then cuts back to whats happening. Scenes can often change completely but characters remind viewers about last scene with suttlety.
4.   – Lots of Panning zooming in and out and free hand camera work.

The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou:

1. – A very enclosed feeling with the shots, a sepia stock was used
2. it shares similar features with the office kind of panning through scenes a bit, but I don’t think a lot with the others.

Lone Wolf Club:

1. – scenery is used and often parts of nature closer to the camera, and then a zoom out to the characters of the show. Wide shots and long shots are used frequent then cutting to a close up panning shot.
2. Every few seconds a cut is made to change angle to either accompany dialogue and scnery and for character movement.
3. The shooting is GREAT!
